Bedtime Stories Project Author Rewards

The Bedtime Stories Project was launched with a goal of educating everyone on the value of reading bedtime tales to children before they go to sleep.  What we didn’t expect, however, was the wonderful response we received when we asked our visitors to send us their original stories.  The final count of stories posted to The Bedtime Stories Project was 117!  Each and every one of them is special because it comes from the author’s heart. We found it extremely hard to single out five finalists, but we promised we would, so we had to!

Here are your five Bedtime Stories Project finalist stories:

A Fond Goodnight, by Nadine L.
The Adventures of Roy the Koi, by Deirdre W.
Ari and the Golden Magic Fire-Breathing Dragon, by Cate F.
Cotton Candy and the Big Mouth Frog, by Bonnie H.
The Story of Mr. Grump, by Nicole V.

The authors of EACH of these stories will receive a pillow by Carpenter Co. — the world’s largest producer of comfort cushioning product, and the creator of SleepBetter.org.  The pillows should be received by the end of next week.

A Special Reward

We have a special reward that we decided at the last minute to give out.  It’s for the most prolific author.  We had several authors who sent two or three stories to us, but Mary M. sent a total of FOURTEEN!  Not only that, her husband, Drex, submitted FIVE.  That’s a total of 19 stories from one household!  That kind of dedication to bedtime stories deserves a reward.  We will be sending a pillow from Carpenter Co. to Mary, with our thanks for sharing her many tales with us.
You can view her collection here.

The Top Reward

The Adventures of Roy the Koi, by Deirdre W.

As mentioned previously, this was extremely difficult.  ALL of the stories were wonderful and we love them all.  To pick one was nearly an impossible feat.  All of the authors who submitted stories should be congratulated on their creativity and writing skills.  We chose Deirdre’s story because of its exemplary writing, imagery, and the lesson it teaches.

Deirdre will receive an illustration of  her story by internationally-known artist Bill Nelson.  The illustration will be completed in two to three weeks and will be posted here at The Bedtime Stories Project for all to see.

Once again, we’d like to thank all of the authors who shared their stories with us.

Artist Bill Nelson
