Sleep Study to be Displayed on Twitter

There’s a pioneering sleep study being conducted tonight … via social media!  The study is being streamed on Twitter and video is being shown on UStream.  You can keep track of the Twitter stream and video right here in this article.

The Sleep-Up on Twitter is being conducted by Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center’s Sleep Medicine Associates.  The patient, Paul Balcerak of Seattle, was referred to the sleep center by his wife because was concerned about his snoring issues.  His sleep study will be conducted from 8pm on July 22 until 8am on July 23.  During that time, sleep doctors and techs will provide a dialogue with viewers over Twitter and through live video interviews. Infrared cameras will catch footage of the patient’s sleep patterns and movements. Charts, graphs, and other visuals also will be included in the stream.

You can view all Twitter posts related to this project below, and be sure to follow @gosleepseattle if you use the social media service.

When the live webcast begins at 8pm, you’ll be able to see it below!
