New research indicates that the police officer you see parked in the median may be thinking about more than speeders — he or she may be thinking about sleep. The new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 40-percent of police officers screened positive for some type of sleep disorder. The most common disorder found by researchers was sleep apnea. Since police work tends to take a toll on both the mind and the body, many participants of the study were not surprised by the results.
