These days it’s very common for people to put sleep on the back burner. Because of social life, work, or academics, people seem to choose many things over getting a good night’s sleep. A recent study out of Cornell University proves this notion. Researchers asked the 2,600 plus participants to choose between two options: getting at least 7 1/2 hours of sleep per night with a job paying 80,000 dollars per year OR getting under the recommended amount, six hours of sleep per night with a job that pays 140,000 salary. In the end it was found that the majority of people chose the higher paying job and less sleep.
In secondary questioning it was found that of those people who chose the higher paying job, only 23% reported that they may regret choosing money over lifestyle.
