A new study indicates that women reach for sleep aids more frequently than men. The study, conducted by the National Sleep Foundation, found that 3 in 10 women report taking a sleep aid at least a few nights each week. The reason for all of this? Eighty percent of women said that they were to stressed or worried to fall asleep at night. New mothers and older women were found to be the the most likely to take the sleep medications, with older women taking “first place”. According to the study the use of prescription sleep aids among women it most prevalent between the ages of 40 to 59.
