In this edition of Ask Happy Dan, Dan answers a question about feather pillows.
Frank: I left my king size feather pillow in a resort years ago. Do not know the brand, but it kept it’s shape during the sleep period. Can not find another feather pillow that supports the neck like the old one. I’ve purchased at least ten pillows over the years with no luck in support for my neck.
HELP!!!
Dear Mr. Pilcher: Thank you for the question. It does not surprise me that you are having a difficult time finding another quality feather and down pillow. They are tough to come by. To meet price points, the quality of feathers and the down has changed over the years. You may be interested to know that a feather by weight is as strong at titanium. The problem is that a quality feather is very small and highly curled, and very expensive. These small highly curled feathers act like nature’s natural spring and will last forever if properly cared for. There really is nothing on the market that will provide you the same feel unless you spend a couple hundred dollars. I would suggest giving The Company Store a try. You can call them as well and have something made just for you. So says Happy Dan The Pillow Man!
