Myth or Truth: Sleep aids are bad for you and should never be used.
MYTH
We prefer that no one uses drugs to help them sleep, but we realize some people need a little help now and then. It’s the “now and then” part that’s important, though. All over-the-counter sleep aids are safe if used occasionally, but many can be very problematic if used regularly, even antihistamines like Benadryl. If you’re having regular issues with sleeping, see your doctor and evaluate your sleep environment, including your bedroom and bedding such as your pillows.
