Scientists in England are dismissing a host of problems that some people have claimed is due to wind turbines being used to generate electricity, but they are conceding that the sound from the turbines is causing sleep issues among some people.
According to a story in today’s Telegraph, researchers looking into the matter say there’s no proof that what’s called “wind turbine syndrome” exists. Some of those who live near the turbines have claimed that the vibrations in the air and the sound from the turbine blades is causing headaches, nausea and panic attacks. The scientists did say, however, that the sound can be annoying and may keep some people awake at night. The say, however, that the sound is no worse than the sounds you’d come across every day in a big city.
