New Research Points to Sleep Trouble from Tech Use

New research out of Germany reveals that young people who are avid users of computer, cell phones, and social media run a higher risk of serious sleep problems.

Researchers evaluated the habits of about 4,000 people between the ages of 20 and 24 by asking them to fill out questionnaires. It was found that the use of information and communication technologies can have an impact on young people’s mental health. This study also included the use of mobile devices as related to sleep and mental health. It was found that frequent mobile use is linked to sleeping problems in men and can cause an increase in depression in both men and women.
