We’ve written here at SleepBetter.org many times about how sleep greatly effects your weight and eating habits, each day more and more research is being done to understand this correlation further. The latest news on this subject from the Mayo Clinic, where research reveals that people who are lacking in sleep are doing some serious snacking. To be specific, people who got a third less than the average amount of sleep ate about 500 additional calories during the day. For most, 500 calories is the equivalent of an entire extra meal! Interest for this new research was sparked out of the researchers growing concern for global lack of sleep and obesity.
