Many people will tell you that sleeping with animals is a bad idea. If you’re looking for sleep problem solutions, that might not be what you want to hear. After all, we love our pets! In a world filled with harsh words and tense moments, letting Mr. Mittens snuggle up to us in the middle of the night doesn’t seem like such a bad thing. Sleeping with cats is a different experience than sleeping with dogs. Cats tend to be a lot smaller than dogs and usually curl up quietly at the end of the bed. Dogs, on the other hand, are typically larger (although not always) and may be a bit bulkier. If you’re perfectly comfortable sleeping with your cat or sleeping with your dog, then keep doing it. What you might want to consider is the safety and cleanliness of your mattress. A visco elastic mattress topper will go a long way in protecting your mattress while protecting your sleep. Mattress toppers are designed to provide added support and ventilation while you sleep, helping to keep your body at a comfortable temperature while supporting your particular body type.
Everybody is different and no two sleep problem solutions are alike. If you continue to have sleep problems, you might have to reassess sleeping with animals. As much as you think you can’t get a good night’s rest without your pooch at your feet, you’ll be surprised at how much better you’ll sleep. Sneezing? Coughing? Itchy skin? Wheezing? It’s possible you have undiagnosed allergies to animals. If that’s the case, you’ll want to buy a mattress topper or mattress pad and pillow designed to block or eliminate allergens. Of course, all the bed products in the world won’t help much if you’re allergic to your cat but continue to sleep next to him!
Whether you decide to continue sleeping with your cat or sleeping with your dog it up to you, just be willing to try different scenarios to help yourself get the best sleep possible.
