While you may think that you get your best sleep on the weekends, a new study in the UK says that’s not so.
The study, which looked at the heart rate data of almost 5,000 men and women, showed that while a mid-week sleep isn’t the longest, it is the most restorative. Of those mid-week days, Tuesday was found to be the best.
The UK newspaper The Sun said that while there’s no definitive reason why we find it easier to drift off on a Tuesday night, it’s probably because our sleep is less likely to be interrupted by alcohol, lavish foods and other luxuries.
The findings revealed that, while people did spend more time in bed during the weekend, the sleep quality wasn’t as good and there was less time spent in “recovery state”, compared to week days.
